Okay, so now it's time to list some of the the bad/cheesy/hilarious/laughable horror flicks of the 80's!
Let's start with the first one I found in my research:
The Stuff
Now, I've heard of pretty weird stuff in the horror genre. But never of evil yoghurt, because that's exactly what this one is about. Two mine workers find some white goo in the ground (sounds bad already doesn't it?) and for some inexplainable reason, they decide to taste it. To their delight, it tastes very good. So good infact, that they manage to sell the stuff and soon it's the number one food product. Ohhh, and guess what they decide to call it? The stuff! Brilliant!
And theres' this one little kid, who sees through it's innocent facade for what it really is (what exactly we'll never know). He just knows that it's EVIL and that you shouldn't eat it. So in a very "dramatic" scene he storms into the local grocery store and tears off all "the stuff" packages from the shelves, yelling all the while like some raving lunatic.
And ofcourse the kid was right, and people start either dying or become deranged because of it. You know, as you do from eating evil yoghurt that somebody dug up from the ground and claimed to be harmless.
Now even though the movie bad, it's what kind of makes it kick ass. xD
The only reason to why you should see this movie is the same for watching "Killer tomatoes": because it's so stupid it's funny. Plus the clowns drink blood xD.
Chopping Mall
The security is updated in a mall, and gets new security guards. Three robots that seem reasonable, not overly violent and sufficent. WRONG! When a gang of teenagers stay overnight at the mall to fool around, lightning strikes the security office and hits the computers that control the robots. So they go a tiny bit insane, and goes around stalking after potential victims to maul. Now when you see the robots, you'll kind of understand immidiatly that this is a looooooow production.
Despite that, the movie is entertaining and enjoyable (but OH so cheesy...my god).
Ta-dah-dah-dah-DAAAAAHH! My favorite 80's flick to laugh at. Because it's insane, there's really no other words for it. And do you know what "C.H.U.D" stands for? I'll tell ya! "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller". And that's exactly what the movie is about! They come at night, eating dogs (in this case poodles) or a child or yourself. THE HORROR! Except these creatures looks more like something the cat dragged in five years ago, and then been run over a couple of times. It kind of resembles "the creature from the black lagoon" except in fetus form. And it's roars sounds kind of....musical. xD
And today's topic is MOAR horror flicks! (mwhahahah horror!!)
*Ahem*
Yes, wheeeere to begin...oh I know! First I'm going to list all the seriously good ones, those who are still a bit scary even today. Then I'm going to list all the ones that are mostly laughable and really strange. Okay, here goes!
The Good List:
Sleepaway Camp
Now this one is still quite shocking to watch, the ending still haunts me a little infact. It's about this young girl who is orphaned at a very young age from a terrible boat accident, and therefor refuses to speak at all. Then ten years later after the accident, she and her cousin are sent to summer camp. But shortly after arriving, kids start dying in very gruesome ways.
The girl who plays the orphan ,Felissa Rose does a great job of scaring you with her wide staring eyes and complete silence. The music is really frightning and foreboding, and when people get killed their painful screams are not comical or badly acted in the least.
But good GOD the ending! It's such an original one, that I've yet to see something like it again.
In the 80's this series had a sort of reboot, and it got really popular when it aired on tv. In fact many now famous directors have directed alot of the episodes. If you haven't watched twilight zone before, all you need to know is that it usually tells of two or three short ghost stories (or urban legends) in one episode. Some are not really meant to be scary, while others are.
SO eventually they made a full length feature out of it, which sadly didn't get that much praise because of the death of one of it's actors Vic Morrow and two illegally hired Asian child actors.
But this movie is actually pretty great, funny, meaningful and pretty to look at!
Now, if you haven't seen this one I feel really bad for ya! Sure, it's full of clichés but this movie is like the founder of those clichés so it doesnt count. The staring doll in the corner, demon trees, indian burial ground, things moving on their own and all that. Oh, can't forget the tv either! Yes, this is a gem indeed.
Is based on the book by Stephen King and is about a cat called "General" who goes on to witness
three seperate horror stories. I watched this one lazy summer's day when I was 16, all cozy on my pink flowery couch with some hot chocolate in a mug. I think I even rented it from this video store that hadn't bothered to redecorate since the 80's with the tacky pink walls, mirrors in the ceiling and black and white checkered tile floor. Too bad they had to tear the place down in the end : (
Okay, just because I'm so nice (and so movie obsessed) I've decided to start talking about some good ol 80's flicks . Why? I'll tell you!
Maybe you've noticed yourself that whenever you find yourself watching a movie that was made in the 80's, that even if it's a horror film or a thriller they somehow(for some reason) maintain a happy and carefree feeling to them. This is just what I think, but I believe it's because most of the grownups at that time were still on a high after the hippie era, and they just couldn't help themselves.
They just had to put something cheesy or random into their movies. NOT that I blame them in any way, infact that's why I adore 80's flicks so much. They always surprise you with something hilarious.
Let's start with one I watched a few days ago: Edge of Sanity
It's a sort of mix between Dr jekyll and mr Hyde meets Jack the ripper, with Dr jekyll as the lead character. The hilarity kicks in about 10 minutes into the film when the good doctor wants to feed his pet monkey some cocain ( you know, for EXPERIMENTAL reasons...Ahum sure).
And even though it's suppose to be set in late 19th century, everyones wearing 80's madonna get ups. Oh, but only the hookers! xD Then the film trancends rather quickly into the "oh my god what the hell am I watching?!" catagory with the occationally beautifully filmed scene here and there. It's worth watching for the little details tho. Be warned, it's pretty xrated at times xD.

What if people could use their own memories and thoughts as a weapon? Like , if you gave somebody an electric current through your fingertip. And in that current is everything that you are contained within, which gives the victim a shock. Ofcourse the size of the shock is defined by who the person is and what he/her has in their head.
If that person is a massmurderer, that gives you such as shock that you'd probably be paralyzed for awhile. Or if the person isn't 100% sane.
He he, imagne what kind of imagery one could put inside your head.
